Wordless Wednesday Baking with Eggs
New Years Resolutions
Like many people, this morning I am setting up my New Years Resolutions. recently found out that I am having pretty bad acid reflux and I need to make some serious changes to my lifestyle so that I can make a positive impact on my health. I’m not getting any younger! And I also have some other aspects of my life that I would like to improve. I’ll list them here and use it as a daily reminder to make myself better. That is really the best project I can have, isn’t it?
- Stop drinking caffeine. This one has actually already been accomplished, but I want to make sure I stick with it. Plus there is caffeine in things other than coffee, so I want to make sure I keep it on my list.
- Go completely Gluten and Dairy free. I am close, but I still do ingest some of these things.
- Lose Weight. This is on almost everyone’s list but I really do need to make more of an effort. If I can lose some weight then I will make an impact on my heartburn.
- Completely Recover Matthew from Autism. I know it is do-able because we now have an ATEC of 5. That is really awesome.
- Invest more time in things I enjoy. This is my life and I really do need to live it.
- Continue to improve my blog, my writing and my content.
- Work on my photography.
- Play more with my kids.
What are your New Year’s Resolutions? If they include weight loss or a diet change why not join me, Kim from What’s That Smell and Paula of Frosted Fingers at Simply Clean Cuisine where we talk about all our dietary changes, real food, nutrition and everything under the sun.
Keurig Platinum Review
Traditions
Every holiday season my husband and I have a weird “tradition”. I’m calling it a tradition even though we don’t try to do it, it just seems to happen ever year. We get a bug up our butts to buy something. Each year that something changes, but we just have to get it. One year we HAD to have an XBox. We ended up driving all over town on New Years Day, just to find one. We eventually found it some place on the north side of town. It was fun and a little bit silly but some how it has become our thing. So this year Larry decided he wanted to try a Keurig. We weren’t sure if we were going to like it, or even really need it, but we located one at Costco for a reasonable price. I told him to go ahead and just buy it.
Falling In Love With Keurig
We are now completely hooked on it. He loves that he can change the size options and make a really big cup of coffee for himself (using the monster cappuccino mug I made for him one Christmas) and a small cup of tea for the boys. I like the fact that we can each drink exactly what we want. Recently I have been told by my doctor that I need to switch to decaffeinated coffee, but Larry drinks regular. We used to make a big pot of coffee but it was going to waste. Now we only make exactly what we want. And with my big switch to decaf we don’t worry about how we were going to make two pots to keep us both happy. Another really nice feature is the fact that you can use it to make hot water for tea. Instead of putting one of the K-cup pods in the machine, you just leave it empty and close it. The water heats up almost instantly and you didn’t even have to use the microwave! I find Larry doing this throughout the day.
The boys have even gotten into using the Keurig. They ♥LOVE♥ the Green Mountain Naturals Hot Apple Cider. They like it so much that Santa Claus even put a few K-cups of it in their stockings! I have to say that Santa put a few K-Cups in Larry’s stocking too, but his were a variety of coffees Santa found on Amazon. One of the other things I really like, but haven’t used yet, is the fact that the Keurig comes with a reusable K-cup. That means we can use our own coffee and we don’t have the K-cups to dispose of. I really like that aspect of the Keurig Platinum.
What is Your Favorite Keurig K-cup?
Have you gotten a Keurig? What is your favorite K-cup? I think mine might be the Newman’s Special Decaf.
