Eye Can Art Review

Eye Can Art-1

I love art. Do you? There is something about creating art that just releases the soul and makes you feel joyful. At least that is the way with me. Whenever I am around art supplies I need to touch them and I want to feel the weight of them in my hand. Their amazing textures, their smells, everything about art supplies makes me feel good.

Eye Can Art has this really cool Collage Print Making Kit ( one of 8 kits) that I had to try out with Lorenzo. Lorenzo is 3 so I helped him a bit but he was so interested in the kit. He and I have taken some mommy and me type art classes through Recreations and Parks so I suspected he would be really excited about the Eye Can Art kit. The neat thing about this kit is that it really has everything  you need to create a piece of art. The Eye Can Art Collage Print Making Kit contains a glue stick, instructions, tag board and paper, printing ink (2 colors), crayon, brayer (roller), and scissors. The only thing we needed was newspaper to cover our work area, a plate or cookie sheet to roll the paint on and some creativity.

The instructions suggested making a face and I thought this was a brilliant idea for a child Lorenzo’s age. Children need to know how to recognize faces and the different parts of a face. This was actually something we worked on with Matthew during speech and occupational therapy. Lorenzo used the crayon to draw the shape of the head and I cut it out for him using the scissors provided. He then drew the other shapes on the remaining tag board and I cut them for him. I helped him apply glue to the pieces and then let him adhere them to the face. After we let it dry for a few minutes I helped him use the roller to ink the collage. Then we used it to make a print on one of the papers we were provided with. We used the brayer to apply the other color to make the halo effect.

Eye Can Art

This was loads of fun. So much so, that I had to make my own collage print. I decided to stray from the face theme and made a cityscape. I love how it turned out. It reminds me of island art. It has depth and a primitive quality to it. I can not wait to get my hands on it again and create more art. Eye Can Art would make a fantastic gift for any child, or even adult, that likes to dabble in art but maybe doesn’t know where to begin.

Diamonius Simulated Diamond Ring Review

Diamonius Reviews Monaco Ring

When I was pregnant with Matthew, our first child, Larry decided to take me to Las Vegas for one last hoopla. Of course things never turn out exactly like we expect. This time my brother-in-law and his fiancee asked if they could join us. Of course we said yes, the more the merrier! Well one thing led to another and instead of it being my last birthday party before we became parents it turned into my brother-in-law’s wedding. Larry and I were asked to be the best man and matron of honor. We were both so flattered, especially since I was 8 months pregnant and very swollen, and probably not looking my best. So when we walked out of the little chapel, arm in arm, me carrying flowers and visibly VERY pregnant it isn’t surprising that people on the street outside loudly stated “Aw, isn’t it nice they finally got married.”

Because of my pregnancy I couldn’t wear my wedding set, and right after that statement was made I told Larry he had to buy me a replacement band for me to wear for the duration of my pregnancy. Wouldn’t Diamonius have been the perfect solution? Diamonius has simulated diamonds in gorgeous settings at very reasonable prices. I had to settle for a so-so looking band when I was in Vegas, but with Diamonius I could have had a set that looked remarkably similar to my real wedding set.

Diamonius Reviews

Diamonius sent me the Monaco Ring to review and I have to say it is lovely. The setting has a brilliant cut center stone with two smaller brilliant cut stones on either side. It is finished with 5 pave set stones on the outside of those simulated diamonds. It is a delicate and feminine ring that I think would make any woman feel good. I know I was very excited when I opened the box for the first time. I have actually been wearing it daily since receiving the Monaco Ring. The base metal of the ring is sterling silver and the simulated diamond is actually hard enough to cut glass! I think that is super cool. The Moraco Ring is also inclusion free and clear in color. That means is sparkles and shines all the more.

Popcorn Indiana Review

I was provided with samples of Popcorn Indiana to facilitate my review, but all opinions are my own.

Popcorn Indiana Drizzled Cinnamon Sugar Kettlecorn

Popcorn, Indiana is a pretty fun company. First their name is Popcorn, Indiana and they have a little icon in the shape of Indiana with a dot depicting the location of Popcorn. I think that is pretty cute and pretty clever. Secondly, they say their popcorn is the “best invention on the planet since Caller ID”! That is pretty good popcorn, and they aren’t modest. Thirdly, I don’t think the popcorn is actually from Indiana, it is distributed by Popcorn, Indiana in Englewood, NJ. See, funny and fun.

My Thoughts on Popcorn Indiana

When I was given a chance to do a Popcorn Indiana review, I was pretty excited. I love popcorn. Being on a diet, popcorn is one of my favorite go to snacks if I’m feeling really hungry and can’t seem to fill up. Now, usually I eat plain, air popped popcorn, but some days I am just hankering for something sweet and I love me some kettlecorn (who doesn’t right?) I did a quick run down and the Popcorn Indiana Drizzled Cinnamon Sugar Kettlecorn is only 4 Weight Watchers points for 1 cup. I think that is actually really good. One cup is usually enough to satisfy and this give you a decadent, sweet, crunchy and delectable treat without a ton of points.

Popcorn Indiana Drizzled Cinnamon Sugar Kettlecorn

Speaking of the Drizzled Cinnamon Sugar Kettlecorn, I’m sure you really want to know what it tastes like. Let me start off by saying I gave each boy a few kernels to try this morning before school. Shh, don’t tell anyone! Nico told me it was so good that he wanted it for dessert tonight. I think that covers the yummable factor. To me the popcorn is crunchy but there is this wonderful hit of cinnamon and vanilla. Then all of a sudden you get a soft, sweet taste of white chocolate. This is a perfect combination of flavors. The white chocolate works beautifully with the cinnamon to produce a richness that is delicious.

Popcorn Indiana Dark Fudge Chocolate Chip Kettlecorn

Where the Cinnamon Sugar kettlecorn is creamy and rich, the Dark Fudge Chocolate Chip is full on dark chocolate headiness. At 140 calories for 1.5 cups, it is really the deal when you need that deep, dark chocolate flavor. I love that it still retains the crunch of the popcorn while offering the sweetness of a chocolate candy.

Both popcorns are gluten free and kosher. They do contain milk and soy, and are produced in a facility that uses milk, soy, peanuts and tree nuts.  I think these are fantastic treats that have no preservatives, zero transf ats and use Non-GMO Corn! You know how I feel about that.

L’Occitane Honey Whipped Body Cream Review

L’Occitane Honey Whipped Body Cream photo provided by L’Occitane

Winter Skin

Winter plays havoc with my skin. The cold air outside and the dry, hot heat inside sucks every last bit of moisture from my epidermis. I hate how parched it makes me feel. That is why I’m always on the lookout for healing body creams. And of course if it smells delicious too, well, that is just icing on the cake. L’Occitane Honey Whipped Body Cream does just that. This stuff is 10% shea butter and smells like pure heaven.

L’Occitane Honey Whipped Body Cream

L’Occitane Honey Whipped Body Cream comes in this adorable tin can that reminds me of well crafted, handmade products. The cream is whipped making it light, like a souffle. A small amount goes a long way and it leaves my skin looking soft and well moisturized. My skin has a radiance and suppleness since I started using it. I actually keep the tin next to my computer and use it on my hands all day long. You know how dry a mom’s hands can get after all that washing they get put through.

The scent is subtle and slightly floral, as if the honey were from orange blossoms or jasmine flowers. L’Occitane Honey Whipped Body Cream feels very expensive and left me a little heady. I adore the scent and would love to wear it constantly. At $22.00 for 2.5 oz it is an indulgence I can easily allow. And the adorable container it comes in can easily be used for holding small things around the house after you have lavished the L’Occitane Honey Whipped Body Cream all over yourself.

I was provided with a tin of L’Occitane Honey Whipped Body Cream to do this review. All opinions are my own.
