I have been trying to improve my photography so I’ve been playing around. Not loving the Eggs photo as much as I like the Apples photo, but it is a learning process. So, Wordless Wednesday Apples and Eggs

Cricut Wall Vinyl Tutorial

Cricut Wall Vinyl Tutorial

The Gift

I was so excited when I opened up my Christmas gifts this year and found a new Cricut Expressions 2 machine. I immediately went to the craft store and got myself some wall vinyl and started making new wall vinyls for our home. In this Cricut Wall Vinyl Tutorial I go over the steps to make your own wall vinyls. It is uber easy and I have become Cricut Obsessed.

Supplies

To make the wall vinyl you will need:

  • Cricut machine
  • wall vinyl in your choice of colors
  • Cricut cartridge with image you want to turn into wall vinyl
  • Glad Press and Seal to act as transfer tape (not necessary if you are using big, single element designs BUT HIGHLY recommended for smaller or many pieced designs.)
  • Burnishing tool such as a Popsicle stick.
  • level to help you place the design on the wall.

Pear Salsa WW Points 1

My husband decided to make a lovely pork carnitas the other night and since I’m using Weight Watchers I thought it might be nice to make my own salsa to accompany it. We have lovely seckel pears from our CSA that needed to be eaten so I chose them for the salsa; and pear salsa was born. The beauty of this fresh salsa is that each serving is only 1 Weight Watchers point! I hope you enjoy this salsa and make it frequently while pears are in season.

10 Reasons I Hate Getting Older

Here are my top 10 reasons I hate getting older. I had a very good friend who was 9 years older than me and she used to tell me all these things that happen to you when you get older. I never believed her. Now I do.

10 Reasons I Hate Getting Older

10. Thinking I am still only 28, when I obviously am not!

9. I can’t party (or even stay up late) like I used to.

8. Noticing my own mortality.

7. Forgetting all sorts of important things if I don’t write them down. Then forgetting them anyway.

6. Becoming obsolete. This one really bothers me because my father confided in me that as he has aged he feels people pass him over like he has nothing to contribute.

5. All the darn aches and pains that I didn’t have when I was in my 20’s.

4. Realizing exactly how much I really don’t know.

3. It is just plain harder to lose weight.

2. Having to be the adult. I can’t run to Mom and Dad to make things better, I have to do it myself. And often I have to do it for them. Making those tough decisions sucks.

1. Thin lips! They really do start to thin out as you get older. Yikes.
