Thanks Lynsey! I am really starting to like it. But I am getting a bit antsy to have it done. Larry keeps saying to just cut it all off or do something silly like a Mohawk but I’m not quite ready for that. Thanks for being in my corner on this. It helps get over those rough patches where I’m not feeling so pretty.
Looks Great! I’ve never dyed my hair, and first noticed gray around my temples at about the age of 30. A bunch of years later there are more grays in more diverse areas, but I’m to the point where I actually wish the gray would just take over all over the place. My thought is embrace what your Mama and Pop gave ya!

It looks amazing! I am starting to get gray on the sides of my hair..bad!!! It inspires me to see how great it looks just to let your natural hair be.

Jennifer I tried a couple times before but I just let it grow in with my very long hair style and it looked horrible. I’m glad this time I went to my hair dresser (who I had to convince I should go grey, she didn’t want me to) because she helped me come up with a plan that is the least painful. I sort of wish I could just shave it all off (which is what my husband said to do) but I’m not that brave.
I’m getting a white stripe right in the front bangs where you have it too. I’m not sure how I feel about it, some days I like it but I wish it wouldn’t grow in with that weird texture, like the rest of my bangs will lay flat and the white will poke up like a little corkscrew. I might put manic panic on it for fun, its a natural dye from my punk rock days, its just so messy to use it and washes out so easily.
Looks great on you though, it will be quite a change from being so dark.

Oh I remember manic panic! is it natural? I didn’t know that. Yes, the white hair does seem to have a different texture, but then I have some that are white that are perfectly smooth and sleek. weird.

Well, it will be more than a little bit when it finally gets all in. But I will still have a lot of dark because the back is still full of dark.
You look great! I have tried to grow mine out, but the gray hair does not go well with my skin tone at all.

I had done a lot of reading on going grey and they all said it looks best on fair skin with blue eyes, so I was a little concerned because I do have the fair skin, but my eyes are dark. Then I remembered seeing some absolutely beautiful African-American woman with grey hair and thinking I could do this too.
I LOVE it!!!! So much so that I could totally see people copying this look artificially (and I’m technically a licensed cosmetologist so…..)

I did it for health reasons. I just couldn’t continue to put chemicals directly on my scalp even if I used “natural” products. But I’m super glad it looks pretty good!

Thank you Rachel! I was a little nervous but I really have had a lot of positive response to it. I was surprised at how many women have approached me to tell me they like it. It felt sort of empowering.
I have been getting some grey hairs and my husband says they show my wisdom. I tell him to be quiet!

I have tons of grey hair and I’m only 30. It started going grey when I was about 27. But I’m not too sad about it. Here’s how I see it: I’d rather have a full head of grey hair than to have thinning hair.
