Minnie’s The Wizard of Dizz DVD Review

Disclosure: I received a copy of Minnie’s The Wizard of Dizz DVD to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

Minnies Wizard of Dizz DVD

We will be taking a trip to Disney this year and although my boys love several of the Disney Channel characters (think Phineas and Ferb) they really haven’t been well acquainted with the characters that made Disney what it is today. I figure it would be really worth our effort to get them familiarized with a lot of the Disney characters. I went out and bought Lilo and Stitch because we are having a breakfast with them one day, and I even picked up Tangled since I’m sure we will be seeing some of the princesses running around. That is why I was really excited to get Minnie’s The Wizard of Dizz DVD.

Not only does Minnie’s The Wizard of Dizz let them spend some time with all the Disney Clubhouse crew but it also introduces the kids the the classic story of the Wizard of Oz without the scary flying monkeys!

I put Minnie’s The Wizard of Dizz on the other day for Lorenzo to watch. He loved it. He actually sat and watched the whole show, which I wasn’t sure he was going to do since he is only 3 and longer shows often bore him. He did get a little tired of it once we moved on to the bonus features, but that is to be expected since his attention span isn’t that long.

Besides the featured Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Wizard of Dizz! there are two additional episodes on the DVD. They are The Golden Boo-Boo and Goofy’s Gone. The DVD also has 10 Minnie’s Bow Toons and a free download of the Minnie Bow Maker digital book app. The whole DVD retails in the US for $19.99 and $24.99 in Canada. It will be available in stores June 11, 2013.

I love to be artsy and craftsy, but I lack inspiration. I need someone that is willing to tell me what to make. Sort of like when I was in college and taking my art classes. I wasn’t a bad artist, but I always did better with an assignment rather than just a free form task. I’m sort of a non-creative creative person.

Anyway, Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores has a great Cape Discovery section that promotes kid-friendly craft projects for the summer. At my location Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store it was right up front so you couldn’t miss it. You can also go on-line and look at the crafts in the spring catalog to get some ideas. I decided to try the ombre dyed t-shirts because I really liked the look of them. Of course I couldn’t leave well enough alone, but decided to try mixing the ombre effect with a more traditional tie dye look. I think I came up with a pretty cute blend of the two.

Jo-Ann’s has a ton of great ideas for summer. I know my sister-in-law and her children would love them. They are super creative and crafty. I can’t wait to hear which craft you pick.

Please feel free to pin and repin my craft using the hashtag #summerofjoann. If my craft gets the most repins I have a chance to win $100 Jo-Ann gift card!.

Wordless Wednesday Peonies

Here is a few nice photos of my beautiful Peonies. I love these flowers, but I’m so allergic to them. Had to move them back outside.

Salba Chia Picnic Pack Giveaway

Disclosure: I have received free products from Salba Chia as an ambassador for their products.

Summertime is here!!! I love it. There is something so wonderful about summertime. The slower pace, the longer days, the warmer nights, and the parties. Those are always the best. They can be super easy with foods like hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken on the grill. But they can also be filled with healthier options too, like Salba Chia Organic Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips and Salba Chia Medium Salsa. My boys are crazy about tortilla chips and salsa, and Salba Chia offers up both with Salba Chia seeds included right in the snack.

Salba came up with a really cool Southwest Veggie Soup that uses their Salba Chia Medium Salsa to add some zing. Salba Chia seeds can be used in a ton of different summertime foods. They suggested adding them to potato salads, gelatin or even lemonade! I made chocolate chia seed pudding with mine! yummy.

Salba Chia would love to introduce you to their products and they are offering a Salba Chia Picnic Pack Giveaway to one of my readers. Why don’t you enter below?
