EcoSMART Organic Pest Control Giveaway

Dec 13, 2009
Hi Folks! I’m very excited to bring you this giveaway. EcoSMART contacted me and offered me a chance to try their Home Pest Control, an organic pest control product for free. I jumped at the chance. I have tested some of their products before and have found them both effective and safe. And along with the fact that they are made in the USA just makes me very, very happy. EcoSMART has generously offered to give one Matthew’s Puzzle reader their own bottle of Home Pest Control during this giveaway.

The EcoSMART Home Pest Control for Indoor and Outdoor use kills and repels ants (including Carpenter, Red Harvester, Pavement and Argentine), beetles, centipedes, cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, fleas, milipedes, pantry pests, pillbugs, silverfish, spiders, sowbugs, ticks and other crawling insect pests. This is great for me because I can not stand to have any bugs in my house. Yes, it is winter here and we aren’t seeing many bugs right now, but I know we will see them as spring and summer roll around. For us the bugs we tend to get most are ants. We moved to a house that was recently built on farm land and with the construction came ants. I love the idea of using something safe to control the ants instead of something chemical laden.

Win It!
If you would like a chance to win the EcoSMART Home Pest Control yourself, simply head over to EcoSMART and take a look at their other products. Then come back here and leave me a message about what other product you would find useful, or tell me why you would like to win EcoSMART Home Pest Control for your family.

You have 48 hours to claim your prize or a new winner will be selected.

Earlier this week Pearl Paradise gave me a beautiful pearl bracelet to review. They sent me a stunning lavender fresh water pearl bracelet with 14 kt gold clasp. I have never owned a good piece of pearl jewelry but was very excited to receive this piece. Before the bracelet arrived the only exposure I had ever had to fresh water pearls was the small, oddly shaped white peals strung on a delicate necklace I had gotten when I was much younger. Not a really nice piece. So when they told me they were going to send me some fresh water pearls I was really unsure of what to expect. I decided to go check out their website and found some amazing pearls. I’m totally in love with their golden pearls, they are simply beautiful. The offer white, pink, lavender, golden and black pearls in many styles such as necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pendants and rings.

I tend to wear only a few pieces of jewelry daily such as my wedding set, diamond stud earrings and a mother’s ring my hubby bought me (before we found out we were having a third baby!). I was delighted when Pearl Paradise gave me the bracelet because I really think it is something you can wear daily if you want or save for those special occasions when you want to dress up a bit.

When the bracelet arrived it came with a certified appraisal which included a picture of the bracelet (great for insurance purposes should something happen to the piece), the pearl origin: China, shape: near round (so no oddly shaped pearls here), body color: lavender, luster: Highest, Matching: Excellent, Surface/Nacre: 95% Blemish Free, Overall Quality: AAA, size: 7.0 – 8.0 mm, and clasp: 14 kt Gold. They also sent a pearl care kit containing two Pearl Sachets and a Microfiber Pearl Cloth to help me keep my pearls in good condition.

I believe this bracelet would make most women very happy, especially a mom who gives so much of herself that sometimes she forgets about herself. Pearl Paradise wants to give one of Matthew’s Puzzle readers the exact same bracelet they gave me ( the one pictured at the top of this article – lavender). All you need to do to enter to win is stop by Pearl Paradise and look around. Then come back here and tell me about some other pearls you would love to get this holiday season or for your birthday/anniversary.

Mandatory entry: go to Pearl Paradise, then come back and leave a comment telling me what other pearl piece you would love to own. Please leave your email address or make sure it is visible on your blog.

looks like a soft lychee

Last year I started making my own jams, preserves and conserves. I had never really made any before, except for one try at making wine jellies as Christmas gifts before I got married. One thing that I really didn’t like about doing it myself is the need for large amounts of sugar to make sure the pectin sets up. Sometimes the jams just tasted sweet instead of like the fruit themselves. And for the amount of fruit necessary it was hard to buy good quality fruit, prepare it and preserve it all in a day or two.

The other day Crofter’s sent me a 4 pack of their new Superfruit spreads. There is the South America, North America, Asia and Europe. The South America is Maqui and Passionfruit blended with Morello Cherries and Red Grapes, the North America contains Wild Blueberries and Cranberries blended with Morello Cherries and Red Gapes, the Asia is raspberries and Yumberries blended with Morello Cherries and Red Grapes, and the Europe is Black Currants and Pomegranates blended with Morello Cherries and Red Grapes. These spreads are fantastic. They are made with organic fruit and cane sugar and are tested for pesticide residue.

What I love about these spreads is the fact that they aren’t overly sweet. They actually have a slight tartness that is extremely pleasant. And although Crofter’s is GFCF and the boys enjoy them on their GFCF toast, Larry and I have both fallen in love with eating them topped on a bagel spread with St. Andre Cheese. This makes for a lovely earthy, sweet, tart combination that really is a wonderful way to start your day, that is, if you can eat dairy.

Would you like to win a 4 pack of Crofter’s Superfruit Spreads? Be one of the first two people to answer the following question correctly and you will be the winner. Please make sure you leave your email address or that it is visible on your blog.

What color is the Yumberry? – First one to answer correctly wins the first set.

What other fruit does the Yumberry look like? – First one to answer correctly wins the second set.

This contest will run until the first two correct answers are posted or until August 5, 2009 11:59 PM EDT.

So much of our daily summer life is spent outside enjoying the sun and water. But all that fun can take a toll on our skin and I find it really important to try to moisturize whenever possible. That’s why I was really excited to try Raw Beauty’s Happy Hour: Hand and Body Lotion in Unforgettable Love. Unforgettable Love is a light blend of summer flowers, musk, lime and citrus with vanilla notes. But best of all it is a light-weight formula that leaves you feeling soft but not oily. Please note that these do contain milk, so if you are GFCF you probably don’t want to use these on your skin.

Janae, of Raw Beauty, also sent a Pucker Up Lip Tint Lip Balm in Red Hot for a special Matthew’s Puzzle reader. The Pucker Up Lip Balms are flavored with natural peach and are made with coconut and sunflower oils. They are Phthalate Free.

Would you like to win a Pucker Up Lip Tint in Red Hot from Raw Beauty? Simply head over to Raw Beauty and take a look around. Then come back to Matthew’s Puzzle and leave me a comment on what else catches your eye. Make sure to leave your email address, or that it is visible on your blog. (This is a mandatory entry)
