I worry

When Matthew got off the bus today one of the neighbor boys, who is several years older, had to make a remark to Matthew that our younger son runs faster than Matthew. It bugged me. This child always seems to have some negative comment for Matthew. Last year, over the summer, he was rude to Matthew and other times over the school year he has said some things that are negative. Not really mean, but leaning towards that. I think I am so worried that people look at Matthew differently than other children. This boy doesn’t seem to have any issue with our other son, but he does seem to not like Matthew. I am guessing it is because Matthew is different and I assume his parents may have told him about Matthew’s diagnosis. I don’t know if I’m over reacting. If I should do anything. And what I would do if I did.

I think that when you have a child with special needs you may actually worry more. I don’t know if there is a good reason for this, or if we just overreact. But I worry.

Great overview of Biomedical Interventions/Timelines

Just found this great bit of information on the TACA.org website and thought I’d pass it along. It gives you a visual timeline for what you should be doing each year and in which order when trying biomedical interventions. Make sure you clear the medical stuff with your doctor, but take a look. I wish we had this when we started out. I know I’m going to review it and make sure we have done everything we need to. Hope you find it as informative as I have!
