This Wordless Wednesday is all about the black eye. My youngest son likes to run head first into people. This time he chose to run into his brother, Nico. Nico was fine, but littlest man got this shiner.
Hi Maryanne, I have just stumbled across your blog as I’m sure many of us do in our late night trawling of the web in search of more biomed titbits. I searched your blog and liked the update you gave in January 2012 that summarised what biomed you were currently doing with Matthew and what you were planning on doing next. Have you done this for 2013 – I may have missed it? I just have quite a few questions if you could spare a moment to answer even some of them I would be most ever grateful :-). Are you still doing AC – (presume this is Activated Charcoal??) chelation and how is this going? I have a 4 year old son (2 years + into gfcf and biomed treatments) but feel we need to move to the next stage soon. Also B12 shots have been an absolute saviour for us so I was wondering why you decided to discontinue and if you still think this has been good for Matthew. Are you able to list the brands of the probiotics, enzymes and multivits you give (we use these but I’m always on the hunt for better). Did you continue to give M dairy (and how did you introduce) we have access to unpasturised milk and I am itching to give DS some but unsure how/if to start) Did you try LDN and if so how has it gone? We were prescribed it first up when DS was just 2yrs but it appeared to make him head bang (something he had never done before starting LDN) so we stopped it and the HBanging all but disappeared. have more Q’s but that’s enough to bombard you with!! Sorry this probably should have been an email rather than a non-related comment!
Hi Theresa, No I haven’t done an overview of what we are giving Matthew right now. I guess I should do that, huh? AC chelation is actually Andy Cutler Chelation also known as frequent, low dose chelation – not activated charcoal, although I could see how that could be confusing since we all use activated charcoal in the biomed community. No, we no longer do AC chelation, although I still highly recommend it for anyone with yeast issues. I feel it was one of the best ways to get rid of yeast completely. I have not had him tested but he does not exhibit any yeast like behaviors now at all – that is after a year of AC chelation on weekends. After attending Autism One in Chicago (which I highly recommend to anyone that can attend) we started another protocol that addresses parasites in the body. We are using mebendazole and have seen huge improvements. HUGE. I would suggest talking with your doctor about this to make sure you child can use it. It is considered a safe drug, but may be contraindicated in your child. So just talk to your doc first. We saw good improvement on MB12 but have not needed it for over a year now. I tried raw milk with him years ago, but he never liked milk so he didn’t drink it. We can, now, give him dairy products on occasion without issue. But that is after a good 4 years of gut healing. We simply started giving it to him in foods every day and watched for any regression. We did this every year or so, until one day he didn’t react. I still give digestive enzymes if he is going to eat dairy, but he has no reactions what so ever to it. Right now I give Kirkman’s Biofilm defense, Houston Enzymes Trienza and that is it. Sometimes I give him other things that go with our current protocol of killing parasites, but these are not given daily. I would suggest looking up Kerri Riviera and finding out about her protocol. She is a god send.
If you want to start raw milk, go very slowly and only give a little at a time one time a day, then increase if you see no negative results, keep track of how much you give and any reactions, both good and bad. You will know. Remember you may get die off so you could see that coming out as a negative. WE never started LDN. I have heard good things but it was explained to me that it was like a bandaid for the immune system, it calmed it down sort of like a dog being petted, but it didn’t really fix anything. I wanted to fix things not just suppress things. So we skipped it. Please email me at maryann@matthewspuzzle.com so we can talk me.
I totally understand that. It happens quite often here. My baby brother spends half his time bumping into things (or people) it seems. Bobbie recently posted..The Tragedy Paper by Elizabeth LaBan
My son has somehow evaded a black eye (at least so far) and he’s 10… and I am surprised because he is so pale and bruises easily. His legs look like we beat him. lol.
