Wordless Wednesday Red Popping Corn

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

Today’s Wordless Wednesday is of Red Popping Corn on the Cob from my middle son’s field trip to the farm. We were one of the few groups to find the red corn, and I’m proud to say as a chaperone every one of my 4 boys and myself, found red corn. When we came home my son had to immediately pop his corn. You simply put the corn in a brown paper lunch bag, tightly roll the opening closed and pop in the microwave on hi for 2.5 to 3.5 minutes. It was so cool, and tasted great.

    • The flesh was pure white and the left over kernel was still red. It was really pretty and tasted great.

  19. I’ve always wanted to try that! I make popcorn in paper bags, but never with a whole cob like that. 🙂

  24. Does it pop red too? Does it taste different? We had some dried stalks of this growing up and I was always curious!

    • No, the outside is the only red part. The inside was pure white and it tasted like regular popped corn. It was really good and a really cool treat for the kids.
