Right after Matthew was born, 6 years ago, I developed a sharp pain in my left hip. I couldn’t cross my legs, I couldn’t sit crisscross applesauce on the floor, and I couldn’t sleep on either side at night. The pain would actually wake me from a sound sleep. I saw my primary care physician who told me it was sciatica and there wasn’t anything that could be done. Sometimes it got a little better when I was pregnant, but not much and I ended up suffering for years with the pain. I tried yoga to stretch it out, but it never did much. Finally after our youngest was born I decided I needed to take care of myself, so off to the orthopedic doctor I went. He immediately diagnosed me with bursitis to the left hip. I got a cortisone shot, my first ever, and was looking forward to feeling much better. But then the doctor informed me that one shot usually didn’t do the trick, you needed a second. I barely had time for the first appointment, how was I going to come back in 6 weeks for another one?
So I started looking on line for home remedies and came across a suggestion of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric. Well I already had Enhansa in the house because we use it for Matthew, so I decided to give it a shot. I worked myself up to two capsules twice a day and I noticed a marked improvement in my hip pain. But it was still there. Then I decided to try some Olive Leaf Extract, not for the hip pain, but for yeast. I went to the market and found Barlean’s Olive Leaf Complex and decided to try it ( along with their omega 3-6-9 orange swirl which is super yummy!). After adding Barlean’s to the mix I was surprised when my hip pain was completely relieved. I don’t know why this worked. I really have no idea, but it did. I sit here pain free for the first time in 6 years.
NOW, PLEASE REMEMBER I AM NOT A DOCTOR AND THIS INFORMATION IS PURELY FOR ENTERTAINMENT! YOU MUST TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR TO DETERMINE WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU!
Curcumin can be contraindicated in some people and I have no idea about olive leaf extract, so please talk to a knowledgeable doctor first.

Just curious– can you break down your dosages? I'd like to show my osteopath so I can explain better and also what is Enhansa? Haven't heard of it, and my son is on the spectrum as well. TIA!
Melaina, I take 2 Enhansa capsules twice a day. They each contain 150 mg of curcumin. Enhansa is Lee Sisby's curcumin product. When our doctor prescribed curcumin for Matthew he specifically said Enhansa.
There are other curcumin products on the market, but this is the one I know and use.
I take 1 Tablespoon of Barlean's olive leaf complex. I'm sure there are other olive leaf extracts, but this is the one my health food store had and said was popular so I tried it.
I hope this helps you talk to your osteopath.
