I used to be a big “beauty product” girl. I loved to buy all sorts of make-up and beauty products, but since I have had two children (with a third on the way) I really haven’t had as much time to do my make-up. Instead I prefer to keep my skin in good condition and not rely on make-up to make me look good. I also really like to keep the ingredients of my products as natural as possible. Recently Ashlee, of Botanical Roots, sent me a few samples to try for myself. I was lucky enough to try the Sweet Cheeks honey based exfoliating cleanser, Cacao and Sugar Body Polish shower scrub, Berries and Crème Mask and the Moisturizing Facial Elixir.
I loved the Sweet Cheeks. I have known for some time that honey is wonderful for the skin and this cleanser not only smells fantastic (like fresh honey), but it also gently exfoliated my skin. And Ashlee says you can also use it as a skin-softening mask! I have now put it in shower so that my husband can use it too.
The Cacao and Sugar Body Polish smells just like chocolate and makes your skin feel so soft. I love the fact that it is full of shea butter and organic, fair-trade cane sugar. This too, has ended up in our shower so my hubby can enjoy it too.
I think my new favorite is the Moisturizing Facial Elixir. It is an oil, and as Botanical Roots says, it can take a little getting used to but it is amazing. I like how easily it absorbs and how lovely my skin looks after using it.
I am excited to get an opportunity to try the Berries and Crème Mask which contains French pink clay to help detoxify the skin. The Mask is actually a powder that you mix with a little water then apply.
