I went to his blog and posted a comment on the turtle with the rubix cube.
When I was younger I almost bought an Andy Warhol painting. It is because I really do enjoy art. And although I was a Mathematics major in college most of my free electives were art classes. I took a pottery class, a basic design class, a print making class and even a floral design class. I just enjoy art. So that may be why I’m so drawn to some of the very talented artists out there. I found Adam of falldowntree. His artwork is simply delightful. There really isn’t any other word for it. I instantly fell in love with the characters of his prints. As Adam says in his profile, he likes to draw, and I like to look at his work. There is a retro quality to his work, but I am also reminded of Disney and Pixar animated movies when I view his shop. One of my favorite series he has is the My New Robot series. He has at least 4 prints in this series but it will probably continue to grow. He also has a To The Moon series, a Train, Train Go Away series and a Cook A Doodle Doo series based on a story by the same name.
Adam sent me the Bird Band 10 x 10 print on White Linen Textured card stock with a matte finish. Immediately it reminded me of the Country Bear Jamboree in Disney World. It features 6 birds singing and playing instruments in their woods. There is a simple, almost country charm to it, without looking out of place in a more modern home. I can’t wait to frame it and hang it in one of the boy’s rooms.
