I’m so excited to offer my first Autism Awareness Month Giveaway. When I decided to do a giveaway I contacted companies I thought had wonderful products that I would like to introduce to the Autism community. One of the most enthusiastic responses I received came from SafetyTat. Not only did they offer their product for the giveaway but they also offered to send me a sample of their tattoos. When I received my package I was really excited to find they had included several different tattoos, most already printed with my husband’s mobile phone number (he always has his phone on him so I knew his was the most logical number to give). Not only did they include some of the cute tattoos with “If Lost, Please call: our phone number here” they also included several very personalized tattoos such as those including “Non-Verbal”, “Sensitive to Touch”, “I have non-verbal Autism”, “I have Autism”, “Medical Condition”, “In Case of Emergency”, and “Allergies – Ask First! Milk, Soy, Wheat”, all with the specified phone number. But it didn’t end there; I also received several of their Quick Stick Write-On tattoos which come with their own pen to allow you to write whatever message or phone number you choose.
The Original SafetyTat applies much like a traditional temporary tattoo. You simply remove the clear layer, and then press on the child’s skin in a conspicuous area. Add water to saturate and remove the white liner, then wipe to remove any residual adhesive. They are water proof and will last from 1 to 5 days.
The Quick Stick Write-On tattoo is a micro-thin elastomer with medical grade adhesive that is hypoallergenic and skin safe. You write emergency information on the tattoo using the included marking pen which is completely waterproof. Best off all, the tattoo needs no water to be applied! Simply peel and stick. These tattoos can last for weeks and simply peel off like a band-aid for easy removal.
With the summer months fast upon us I think SafetyTats are a wonderful device to have in a parent’s arsenal. Many of us will be taking vacations to amusement parks where it is estimated 27% of families lose a child while at a park. And over 2000 U.S. kids get lost every day. As SafetyTat says “Just in Case.”
I would love to have one of you win your own SafetTat.

I love the dino tattoo. My son has aspergers but won’t talk to adults that he dosn’t know well or other kids that he dosn’t know. So these would be great as we live in California and travel to theme parks, aquariums and zoo’s wuite often. If I don’t win I think I will order some anyways what a great idea! I will be adding you to my blog roll its http://www.charleepensak.blogspot.com my son is newly diagnosed so there isn’t much info yet but I plan to add some!
hi Maryann,
I would choose the dinosaur safety tats for the boys and the flower one for Katie. They would love it and even think it’s “cool”.
I think it’s a great idea, especially when going on vacations, amusement parks or even to a large playground.
Great idea!

Hey Maryann,
I like the ones for allergies (like the bee sting and peanuts). It’s great that you are doing all fo this!!!! 🙂

I just found your blog and am thrilled about the give away. I went to Saftytats and the first tat I saw was the one about peanuts. I was a nanny for a child with a nut allergy for years and I was always amazed at how ambivalent strangers could be about it. If I had to pick a fav it would be that one.
I added myself as a follower, I can’t wait to keep reading.
I like the write on tats. Sometimes you need to have different info for different situations.
i’d get the dog tat for my son!

I think these tattoos are a fantastic idea! I have twin boys with autism who are non verbal and I worry all of the time that they might wander in a public place or even at school. This would bring much more peace of mind.
I just left the comment, but no email address. 🙂
I like the Butterfly. THank you!
