I finally got a Mom’s Night Out last night with a few girlfriends. We all have kids on the spectrum so it was nice to hang out with people that just “get it”. There was no trying to explain or feeling like our issues were being dismissed. And now that I’m GF myself there was no need to explain why I didn’t eat wheat. We went to PF Chang’s and they have a very good GF menu. Our waiter was pretty cool because he caught on to the GF thing pretty quickly and even caught a possible mis-order that contained gluten. Then we headed over to the theater to watch Eclipse.
Now I’m not a huge Twilight fan. I have read the books so I know the plot, but I haven’t seen the first two films. After seeing Eclipse I don’t think I’ll be running out to see them any time soon. The movie followed the book pretty closely, but the makeup and costumes were so strange to me that I just can’t believe anyone could buy them NOT being vampires! And what is with the crazy hair everyone has in those films? Does no one know how to color hair and make it look otherworldly but beautiful at the same time? Yikes.
And just to tell you how big a dork I am, the movie was sold out. My friends encouraged me to buy a ticket to another movie so I could get in and then sneak into Eclipse. Which I did! I was so nervous that I would be found out that I was actually getting sick to my stomach. Can you believe it? Oh, I’m such a goody goody!
